Before applying for a government job, make sure the recruitment notice is genuine, current and relevant to your qualifications. A social post, forwarded message or another blog headline is only a starting point. The issuing authority’s official notice controls the recruitment rules.
Start with the official source
Open the website of the department, commission, examination board or recruitment agency yourself. Find its Recruitment, Careers, Notices or Advertisement section and search for the exact post title and advertisement number. For example, BTSC recruitment notices are listed on the official BTSC recruitment page.

Warning signs of a fake notice
- A promise of guaranteed selection or a job in exchange for money.
- No matching advertisement number or original PDF on the authority’s website.
- Payment requested to a private bank account or personal UPI handle.
- Requests for a password, one-time passcode or remote access to your device.
- A post marked “Apply Now” even though the official deadline has passed.
Before submitting the form
Write down the post name and advertisement number, confirm eligibility, save the official link, prepare documents and submit ahead of the deadline. Download the final application and receipt. If sources disagree, ask the issuing authority before paying or submitting the form.
